The weight of their waiting

Björn Rudbergs writings

While Death is lipsticked to bones,
her sister the Night lament to the stars:

“I’m here for your waiting
as my back is closer to breaking,
drying your tears from fear of the scythe”.

While Death paint kohl on her lashes,
The Night is concerned with preparing for dawn;
she polish your coffin
and listens for footfalls come calling.

I had to do a second more fitting to the painting for Kerry’s prompt at toads.
